What are you doing on Saturday between 10am and 5pm? If you said going to MakerFaire:NC then give yourself a gold star! Anyone within driving distance of the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh should definitely come out and see what our local makers, crafters, inventers, and dabblers have to show off. I’m excited to meet people who can teach me some techniques for future blog projects. I even got business cards for the occasion.

Yay, I found you despite having lost your card! I was at the Durham String Thing booth at Maker Faire. If you can make it, String Thing will be at Saladelia near the old South Square tomorrow morning from 10 until early afternoon sometime.

Great! I just realized, too, that another option is a frame loom, which can use a picture frame:

I also forgot tablet weaving, which can be done with a partial deck of cards, a hole punch, some scissors, and crochet cotton.
It’s a little more complex, though. On the other hand, you can make a nice belt or a strap for a bag pretty quickly.
