Project 24: I made fabric! and Lessons learned

Case closed

The coolest thing about weaving is that when you’re done you have fabric which you can then make into anything you want. I finished my weaving this afternoon and quickly sewed it up into this awesome hand-woven case for my new phone.

Check it out:

Isn’t it cute? It’s like a little 70’s sweater for my Android.

Lessons learned:
– I can accomplish nothing when I’m sick. Stupid sinus infection.
– I am not a perfectionist and that is ok.
– This project reminded me of my parents the whole time I was doing it and I don’t know why.
– There is nothing like waning afternoon light to get me over my procrastination so I can take photos.
– Weaving is fun!

I am quite pleased with my first weaving project. I love when these projects can be made into something useful.

I’ll be taking tomorrow off to celebrate the 4th of July, but check back Tuesday for a brand new craft project!

Good work! I like that you made something from the cloth right away – I leave things half done all too often.
